Kenyan Government Announces Nyayo Stadium Handover Timeline as CHAN 2024 Nears

With the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) just four weeks away, Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya has shared that Nyayo Stadium is almost complete and will be handed over soon, with only minor tasks left to finalize. During an inspection visit to Kasarani Stadium on Monday, which was officially transferred to the CHAN Local Organising Committee, Mvurya confirmed that critical upgrades at Nyayo Stadium, including the playing field and essential facilities, are fully completed.

“The pitch is ready, and all the major work you see here is done,” Mvurya stated. He noted that the remaining work, including the perimeter wall, is expected to be finished within two days.
