Harambee Starlets Name 23-Player Squad for Algeria Friendlies

The Football Kenya Federation has unveiled a 23-member Harambee Starlets squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Algeria, scheduled for November 26 and 30 in Algiers.

Head coach Beldine Odemba has blended experienced diaspora-based players with promising local talents as the team steps up preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Among the notable inclusions are goalkeeper Lilian Awuor, who features for Farul Constanta in Romania, and several key players from Kenya Police Bullets, the reigning domestic champions. The squad features only two goalkeepers, a selection that has raised eyebrows among followers.

The two-match tour offers the Starlets valuable high-level exposure following their historic bronze-medal finish at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. The Algeria encounters will test the team’s depth and tactical cohesion ahead of next year’s qualifying campaign.

Kenya will be keen to maintain the positive momentum built over the past 18 months as they aim to secure a return to the continental showpiece in 2026.The full squad will travel to Algiers next week for the first of the two friendlies.
