Harambee Stars’ 2024 CHAN Fixture Schedule Revealed

Harambee Stars will launch their campaign for their first-ever African Nations Championship (CHAN) title with a challenging match against DR Congo, as announced by CAF on June 27. The draw, held in Nairobi in mid-January, placed Kenya in Group A alongside DR Congo, Angola, Morocco, and Zambia.

All of Kenya’s group stage matches will be held at Kasarani Stadium, providing the team with the advantage of playing in familiar surroundings. The tournament, co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from August 2 to August 30, 2024, also serves as a prelude to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which the three nations will host.

Kenya’s CHAN journey begins on August 3 against DR Congo at 3:00 PM. They will then face Angola on August 7 at 7:00 PM, marking their first home match under floodlights in over a decade. Subsequent matches include a high-stakes clash with Morocco on August 10 at 3:00 PM and a final group stage game against Zambia on August 17 at 3:00 PM.

If Kenya tops Group A, they will play the Group B runners-up in a quarter-final at Kasarani Stadium, which will also host the tournament’s final and closing ceremony. Other Group A matches will take place at Nyayo National Stadium, including Morocco vs. Angola on August 3, DR Congo vs. Zambia on August 7, Zambia vs. Angola on August 10, Morocco vs. Zambia on March 14, and DR Congo vs. Morocco on August 17. Additionally, Kenya will host a Group C match between Niger and Algeria on August 18.

The tournament’s opening match and ceremony will be held at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, featuring the hosts against Burkina Faso.
