Men’s Final: Noah Lyles Joins Usain Bolt’s Elite Club

American superstar Noah Lyles claimed his fourth straight world title in the men’s 200 m, crossing the line in 19.52 s, matching the legendary Usain Bolt’s record of four consecutive world championships in the event.
Fellow American Kenny Bednarek took silver in 19.58 s, while Jamaica’s Bryan Levell secured bronze in 19.64 s.

Earlier in the semifinals on September 18, Lyles erupted out of the bend with a world-leading 19.51 s, the fastest semi-final time in World Championship history, setting the tone for the final.

Lyles’ fourth consecutive world 200 m gold ties him with Usain Bolt, the only two athletes in history to accomplish this feat.
