Eden Hazard Honoured with Premier League Hall of Fame Induction

Belgian football maestro Eden Hazard has been officially inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of the most electrifying talents to grace England’s top flight. The announcement marks a proud moment for Chelsea fans and football enthusiasts across Kenya and beyond.

A Chelsea Icon Remembered

Hazard joined Chelsea in 2012 from French side Lille, famously tweeting, “I’m signing for the Champions League winner.” From that moment, he captivated fans with his dazzling footwork, creativity, and unrelenting flair. Over seven seasons at Stamford Bridge, Hazard made 352 appearances, scored 110 goals, and delivered countless unforgettable moments.

His Premier League journey was decorated with two Premier League titles, two Europa League trophies, an FA Cup, and a League Cup. Individually, Hazard was named Chelsea Player of the Year three times and won the Premier League Player of the Season in 2014/15, a campaign in which he led Chelsea to the title with 14 goals and consistent brilliance.

Hall of Fame Recognition

The Premier League Hall of Fame, established in 2020, celebrates players who have made exceptional contributions since the league’s inception in 1992. Hazard joins fellow Chelsea legends Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, John Terry, Ashley Cole, and Petr Cech in this prestigious circle.

Upon receiving his engraved medallion and a £10,000 charity donation from the Premier League, Hazard reflected: “From the first day to my last game, it was like a love story. My playing style was just to have fun; to have so much happiness on the pitch.”
