Stars Abroad: Harambee Stars Winger Adam Wilson Signs Permanently for Welsh Side The New Saints

Adam Ayiro Wilson the England-born winger with Kenyan heritage now representing the Harambee Stars has completed a permanent return to Welsh giants The New Saints (TNS) after his departure from English side Bradford City.
From Newcastle’s Youth Academy to Welsh Glory
Wilson began his development at Newcastle United, signing professional terms in 2018 and earning a contract renewal in 2020. In September 2022, he joined TNS, where he played a key role, tallying 7 goals in 19 league appearances and helping the team secure the Welsh league and cup double. He was also voted Supporters’ Player of the Year.
Bradford City Chapter & Loan Spell Back to Wales
In August 2023, Wilson signed a three-year deal with Bradford City, scoring his first goal in a memorable late equalizer against Wrexham. However, he gradually lost his place in the first team and was sent on a season-long loan back to TNS in August 2024. During that loan stint he continued strong form, featuring prominently in the team’s historic run to the UEFA Conference League group stages the first time a Welsh club has ever achieved that milestone.
A Permanent Homecoming to TNS
After mutually terminating his Bradford City contract on September 1, 2025, Wilson officially re-signed with TNS on a permanent basis later that month, marking his third stint with the club.
International Milestone: Harambee Stars Debut
With dual British-Kenyan citizenship through his English father and Kenyan mother, Wilson received his first Kenya national team call-up in May 2024. He debuted for the Harambee Stars in a friendly match against Chad on June 7, 2025, which ended goalless.
Final Thoughts: A Meaningful Reunion
Adam Wilson’s journey comes full circle: from youth football at Newcastle, to rising star at TNS, a stint in England with Bradford City, and now a permanent return to Welsh success. This move is not just a transfer it’s a reaffirmation of his value at the club where he thrived and now represents Kenya on the international stage.
